Is purple a good color....
...for your foot? My toes bent too far when I slipped on a bucket of sidewalk chalk last night. Now, 3 of the 5 are purple and my foot is swollen. I think I either broke some toes or at the very least, have a really bad sprain. Standing on my feet @ work all weekend should be fantastic!

Our poor house...
Having a "spirited" toddler sure does a lot of damage. There's the dented and chipped drywall all over, the closet door that was so forcefully pushed in the wrong direction that the metal guides are bent. The juice carpet stains, the piece of molding that was ripped away from the wall and is now being held by a piece of clear packing tape until we can find a nail gun. The wood furniture that has been "distressed" with blocks, toys, trains, and Hot Wheels. The curtain rod brackets that are bent (curtains are NOT for hanging on!).
It shouldn't be a big deal, it's all stuff that can be fixed, and will be fixed, as soon as we're out of this stage that has seemed to go on forever. And ever.
But once in awhile, looking at all the damage can get pretty overwhelming and depressing.
Ugh.

Assault on Junk Mail
After receiving the exact same credit card offer 8 times last week (from a company who shall remain nameless. Okay, it was CAPITAL ONE) , I have decided enough is enough. The first thing I did was I called (888) 5OPTOUT (888-567-8688). Then, I took a stack of my junk catalogs and visited http://www.catalogchoice.org/ to stop getting those, too. More resources here: http://www.privacyrights.org/fs/fs4-junk.htm. Also, sign the petition to stop junk mail at http://donotmail.org/.

Toast Skiing
Riley invented a new sport tonight.
After dinner, we were all lounging in the living room. We were all in after-dinner-relaxation mode, except for Riley. He was running around the house like normal, up to no good. From the kitchen I hear "I'm ski! I ski! Mommy, I go ski!" So, finally I turn in my cozy chair to look at Riley in the kitchen-he is standing on 2 little strips of cold toast. His dinner request was toast, hot dog, and yogurt. He was using his leftovers for a new sport! Doing his part by recycling his dinner.
Now we are having pillow fights. Ahh....summer.

Colors
Riley is growing and learning so quickly these days, it's amazing. He has letters, numbers, and shapes pretty much down. Colors are still a work in progress. Here's a conversation we had earlier today:
Me: What color is the train?
Riley: Red!
Me: What color is the sink?
Riley: White!
Me: What color is the wall?
Riley: Blue!
Me: What color is your shirt?
Riley: Monkey!
